Charlie Elison is from Seattle (Until age 12) and Tokyo (Until age 18). He currently attends the University of California Berkeley, where he majors in American Studies and History. He likes public media, journalism, and being socially/politically active in his local community. He develops these interests through his employment as a photojournalist/deputy photo editor for The Daily Californian and a media + communications intern for the City of Pinole.

Charlie also likes expanding his experiences through partaking in many different side hustles. Currently, he is a server at Fish and Bird Sousaku Izakaya, where he immerses himself in the culinary world and is learning the ins and outs of high-end Japanese cuisine. His past service jobs range from working at a Thai restuarant in Tokyo to being a barista at the busiest cafe on campus. His interest in media also allows him to pick up some freelance gigs, such as shooting promotional videos for Benioff Children’s Hospital or helping with social media for the Berkeley Menchie’s.

Charlie’s amateur skills include dancing, cooking, and playing soccer. He dreams to one day be able to list these skills as more than just amateur.
